A drawing I did from imagination. Profile view is usually the one view I can do pretty comfortably from memory, but looking back at it now, I think the ear could have used some work. This was done using graphite, micron, and liquid watercolor on drawing paper.
Another drawing inspired by the clothing in the “Fashion” book from last post with a twist on the facial features. Done in graphite and micron on marker paper.
I referenced “Fashion: A History from the 18th to the 20th century,” for this drawing. It’s a great book to own for artists. You can look to it for patterns, stitching, how certain materials are affected by light, and folds and they way they interact with gravity and the forms underneath. This piece was done with graphite and micron on smooth marker paper.
Toned paper drawing of Abraham Lincoln. Usually, I combine at least 2 reference pictures of the subject to make the drawing more of an original. References for this drawing were taken from the April 2015 issue of National Geographic Magazine.
Another sketch on toned paper where one character gave life to a second and then a third, and so on, until the page was full. Done on toned grey Strathmore loose leaf 16x20in paper with graphite, white charcoal, and hits of Micron. Enjoy
