Oodles o’ doodles…

Sketchbook Page

I would consider this my first page of doodles in the toned paper sketchbook. I really don’t know why I haven’t done more of these to help sharpen my skills with this medium.

Anyway, I started this page with an old mans head in the center and the intent to draw another bust. I was about to erase it and start fresh, but then I decided to keep on sketching. So then came the old man at the top right. Then the gator, profile, avian creature, misshaped old guy, and finally Caucasian sumo. You can see that by the time I got to the last drawing I was very comfortable. It was a lot of fun designing the figures with the negative shapes of the other drawings.
