Root of All Evil

5x8in Graphite, Gouache
5x8in Graphite, Gouache

I could have easily kept working on this one because it still has so many flaws, but I had to stop myself. I’m currently reading, “Art and Fear,” by David Bayles and Ted Orland, and it’s helped me realized that all my artwork will have flaws and its best to learn from them and apply them to the next piece than to keep pushing for perfection. “Error is human; (therefore), art is error. I guess I kinda already knew this, but its one of those passages that just sticks with you.

Tip from this sketch:

If there is something heavy, be sure to draw it (i.e. the weight of the chain pulls the earlobe and nipple)
